The Shows
Tommy Hilfiger
When Taylor Swift makes an appearance, you know it’s going to be good. Pier 16 was transformed with a funfair theme; incredible food, gaming booths, a temporary tattoo parlour and a huge ferris wheel, just to name a few things. All of this before the show had even started, Hilfiger you’re spoiling us! His collection in which Gigi Hadid was the main star, was a nautical 90’s nod consisting of a lot of hoodies, track pants, shorts and fur coats, emblazoned with the iconic logo and colours. Blue denim and gold buttons galore.
Victoria Beckham
We’re totally feeling the velvet vibes. Velvet is the key theme we’re taking away from VB’s new collection. Unsurprisingly, PDHQ is allllllll over the velvet shoes trend – always one stylish step ahead. Victoria Beckham’s collection was one of our NYFW highlights, with the main colour focuses being white, royal purple and orange. Basically, VB got this all on lock. David and Brooklyn agree, and we mean, who’s arguing with these two?
Jeremy Scott
It was 80’s perfection all over the Jeremy Scott Collection at NYFW. With more sequins than we’ve ever seen in our lives, and more crazy silhouettes than we even thought possible, Jeremy has completely outdone himself. We’re obsessed with the OTT ootds, ’cause who doesn’t love a theme party? Not so sure the blue sequinned circle is gunna fit through the barriers of the tube on a morning commute, though…
The Parties
Kendall and Kylie Pop-Up Launch
The Jenner sisters obvs weren’t gonna hide away during NYFW. They decided to have a party for the launch of their Kendall + Kylie collection pop-up shop on the first day. Showing off her new blonde bombshell do, Kylie slayed in oversized stripes and barely there shoes. Her sister opted for all black errthang. Both slayin’ outfits were from the collection. They were joined by Kim K who looked like she’d just walked off her husband’s catwalk. Will this family ever get it wrong?!
Harper’s Bazaar Celebrates ‘ICONS’ By Carine Roitfeld
One of the most important parties and one of the biggest NYFW highlights was Harper’s Bazaar’s #HarpersICONS party. This was hosted to celebrate the new ‘ICONS’ by Carine Roitfeld and, believe us, there were definitely some icons in attendence. The Kardashian/Jenner family certainly know how to catch headlines in their beautifully elegant yet sexy gowns.
Kanye being Kanye had to make a comment about Yeezy Season 4 and the slight hiccup that it had had at the beginning of the week. He also added “I appreciate y’all going on this journey for me, I appreciate all the years y’all put up with me learning in front of you and listening to the music at the same time.” S’okay Ye, we appreciate you too.
Other honourable mentions include arguably the biggest fashion icon of current times, Alexa Chung. Looking like the best dressed bae at prom in her beautiful yellow toned gown with a detailed golden brooch, later joined by a bejewelled ladybird. Hailey Baldwin also got it oh so right in her sheer glittering dress. The open-backed beauty was completely glowing, and we’re all swooning a lil bit.
Alexander Wang
When an after party is catered by 7-eleven and McDonalds at NYFW, you know the designer has clearly thought about the amount of fashion royalty who have probably gone hungry to look perfect for the night. Spray painting abandoned cars, arcade claw games full of Nars products and Travis Scott, Desiigner and Skrillex taking the stage: #wangfest was a little bit crazy. Some of the pieces of the show were instantly available in merch trucks and in special pop-ups throughout NYC, also coming to London and Tokyo on Sept 17th. Going on till 4am, Wang wowed.
The People
Kanye West
Kanye has had a mixed bag this week. His Yeezy Season 4 Collection didn’t go exactly to plan, but he’s had so much hype around him and we all know the collection is going to sell out despite the mishaps. He’s had his family supporting him continuously, and he’s even announced he’s signing Tyga, Kylie’s bae, to his label G.O.O.D. Music. This family just go from strength to strength, nothing is keeping them down (those bendy heels might have though…eek!)
Hailey Baldwin
Hailey Baldwin has had such an incredible week, she walked in four shows and has deffo walked straight into our NYFW highlights. She walked for Parbal Gurung, Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch and Jeremy Scott and may we say, she slayed every single one. Hailey has to have won our fave bae at NYFW award.

Yeah, we know we’ve already mentioned her, but when videos like this show up on our feeds we kind of can’t get over it. It was incredible to see her coming to show her support for her fellow squad member Gigi Hadid at Tommy x Gigi. Can she please turn up to every event we take part in to be our cheerleader too? No? Worth a try.
