KNEE HIGH BOOTS: PD’S FAVE TREND AND HOW TO STYLE IT

If there’s one thing Public Desire does well, it’s slayin’ shoes. Of course, with sassy styles come “what to wear?” dilemmas, so this is our guide on how to wear knee high boots. Your wardrobe can thank us later.
How to Wear Knee High Boots
It’s pretty obvious that PD love a pair of KNEE HIGH BOOTS, but we understand that sometimes they can be a lil tricky to style. We took this as the perf’ excuse to have a stalk of the #PDBae hashtag on INSTAGRAM to find you the sassiest styling options. We’ve shown you how we do on our own Instagram, but we’re gonna leave it to our fave bloggers to show you how to wear knee high boots.
The Classic Knee High Boots
We thought we’d start simple: consider this your Knee High Boot Styling 101. Charlotte Lianne Smith is a key player when it comes to steezy dressing, and we always look to her feed for simple yet sassy styling. This look is a case in point: she’s paired her black knee high boots with an oversized sports shirt that keeps her look casj, but 100% put together.
Our Olivia boots are a shoe-drobe staple due to their black and grey colourways, chunky heel and tie top. The tie at the top of the boot ensures there’s a lil give, meaning that more of us can wear this sassy style.
If you’re looking for an alternative way to wear these knee high boots, then try dressing them up with a satin maxi dress with side splits. This look will be super sassy, but with only a lil bit of skin on show – occasionwear nailed.

True Blue
Wanna step things up a notch? Make like Oriane and opt for a standout colour. These statement knee high boots are the sassiest styling option around, due to their primary colour and velvet texture. Trends? Consider them ticked off your list. Go bold or go home, and wear these knee highs with a plain base and a statement colourful jacket.
Our Eve shoes are relatively new on site, but have definitely become a firm favourite for our PD Baes. There are no surprises why: we love the chunky round heel you can dance on ’til dawn and the slim fit velvet has just enough give to suit loads of body shapes.
Wondering how to wear knee high boots the minimal way? Instead of pairing with colour, instead opt for a colourblocking option. We love how this blue looks with white, but we’re all about trying different colour combos.

Velvet X Copper
Dream outfits are made of these, and we love the way Aylén has played with texture to make this outfit a 10. Velvet, metallic, mesh and faux fur work together to make sure this is a look we want to recreate asap.
You can never have too much of a good thing. Velvet and copper are key trends we can’t get enough of on their own, so it’s no surprise we had to pair them to give us the perf’ pair of knee high boots. The velvet is stretchy enough to fit most shapes, and the chunky heel makes these a great option for day to night slaying.
If you’re wondering how to wear velvet knee high boots off duty, we’d suggest pairing them with an oversized jumper dress for the dream mix of soft-to-touch textures.

Like a Fine Wine
CC Mason has got dressing for the winter season nailed in her cosy parka jacket with faux fur trim. She’s gone matchy matchy and made sure that the bordeaux colour of her faux fur matches her dream PD OTKs perfectly, and this is the kind of seein’ double we’re on board with.
Our Annie boots are a great place to start if you’re looking for a statement boot. With a flattering slim fit and chunky heel, these are perfect for nights out and date night, but will go with enough of your wardrobe to make sure they’re not too tricky to style.
When things start to hot up, swap your parka jacket for an oversized band tee, and pull things together with a studded belt. Finish the outfit with fishnet tights and a velvet choker for immediate outfit goals.

Boss Bae Uniform
We reckon Ashley’s cali-cool ootd would look just as good in our wardrobe, and we’re planning to replicate this look at the first opportunity. Until we get leather weather, we’ll just be replacing her pale blue jacket for a double breasted style.
Our Natalia boots are the best knee high boots to go for if you’re after something with a small heel. These shoes aren’t sky high, but the support from the boot shape will make sure you stay sassy all day – no outfit change necessary.
Just because party season’s over, doesn’t mean the after party ain’t happening. We’re planning to dress these up the slayin’ way, with plenty of sequins to add as much sass as possible.
All Dressed Up
If you’re working out how to wear knee high boots for the party of the season, then Layla’s your go-to girl for outfit inspo. Her style is steezy defined, so prep yo’ wardrobe for nudes, khakis and shoes you’ll need immediately. We love how she’s dressed up her stiletto OTKs with a beaded dress. Dress code: done.
Our Alexus shoes are our super high long boots, so they work best with mini skirts and dresses. Their stiletto heel is the perf’ antidote to sixites and seventies styling, meaning they’ll bring any outfit right back to the here and now.
During the day, these thigh high boots look best either layered over skinny jeans or with a sixties style shift dress.

The New Nude
These are the only kinda nudes we wanna see in our inbox, and they’ll be wardrobe winners from the moment you click add-to-bag. Lara is wardrobe queen, and we love how she’s paired these peep toe boots with similar shades.
When Jana shoes hit ‘new in’ a few months back, we weren’t surprised that we soon saw PD Baes styling them all over the globe. With a chunky not-too-high heel and slim fit legs, these are the sort of boots that’ll work with any outfit.
Consider these the start for a blank palette, and pair with any colour of your choice – we’ve seen people wearing them with anything from bordeaux to black!

Go Flat Out
Of course, no shoe-drobe is complete without a pair of flat knee highs. Christine keeps her outfit casj, opting for oversized sass rather than anything that looks too dressy.
Joy are bestselling knee high boots, and we’re not surprised. With a lace up section at the back of the knee, these can be adjusted to fit different sizes, and we love the simple way of adding a statement to any outfit.
Don’t want to say goodbye to your jeans just yet? Simply pull on a pair of skinnies and then layer these on top for a dressed down outfit we go to time and time again.
