Yes we can’t believe it either – it’s days away from the start of December! We know we’re all asking the same question – where has this year gone?!? *insert every single shocked emoji face*. Even though we are refusing to believe that Manchester city center is already decked out with copious amounts of Christmas decorations – we’re talking twinkly lights, fiber-optic Christmas trees and fake snow – not forgetting all the Christmas market huts and stalls – we have to admit, here at PDHQ – we are very excited for December. We can’t wait for cosy nights in with the gals and getting dressed up in sequins when we’re going out-out for our Christmas do’. See below the festivities we’re gonna be doing all month.
Visit the Manchester Christmas Markets
As much as we’d love to jet off to Germany where the very first Christmas markets were recognised, every year we love the award winning Manchester Christmas markets! This is the perfect day or night out for spending time with fam and friends. We’re lovin all the food and drink on offer between the snow-covered huts and chalets, ranging from Yorkshire pudding burritos (yes really), gooey cookie dough and ice cream and Bailey’s hot chocolates so take your pick gal. If you need a last minute gift idea or just want to eat, drink and be merry – then the Christmas markets is the perf’ festivity throughout December.
Go and watch Elf The Musical
If you love Elf as much as we do, you’ve gotta go and see Elf The Musical this Christmas. It’s the singing, dancing production of the hilarious tale of Buddy The Elf, an orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s sack of presents and gets transported back to the North Pole.
Grab your ice skates
December is the month of the return of Manchester’s ice rink. What if ice-skating isn’t your forte? Then don’t worry bae, there is people (and penguins) alongside to help you out so there’s no need to embarrass yourself on that date night.
Christmas shopping for family/friends (or treat yo’ self)
Shopping. Our favourite past time (minus the Christmas and the stress…). Whether you’re a super organised gal who has finished her Christmas shopping as soon as Black Friday has passed, OR whether you’re more of a last minute kinda gal – Manchester city center, including Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and the Arndale, has got your back with practically every shop you could need for your Christmas shopping wishes. It’s also a must to check out Northern Quarter with quirky homeware shops like Oklahoma etc – there really is a gift out there for everyone (and if you happen to stumble back into Selfridges and buy that new Charlotte Tilbury lipstick you’ve had your eye on for ages… then so it be it).
