Hey all, my name is Laila! Majority of people know me from my YouTube channel Meet The Vloggers but I’m also a fashion, travel & lifestyle blogger!
Who is your biggest style crush?
Kenza Zouiten, mega babe!
As you travel a lot, have you taken fashion inspiration from any of these locations?
Without a doubt. At the moment I’m loving African prints and how they layer their clothing during colder climates. This winter all of my prints and layered outfits are inspired by them.
We know you don’t just jet off for the holiday spam, a year ago you embarked on a trip to broaden your dating horizons, how did you find it?
Absolutely hilarious! I travelled around the world with my brother to gather dating tips from different countries and bring our findings back to the UK. I discovered that in the UK we take dating pretty seriously compared to places like New York where some people went on up to five dates in one day! I’m still struggling to figure out how they managed it…
Ain’t nobody got time fo’ that! If you had to slay the dating game anywhere, where would you pick?
New York for sure. Not because they are serial daters, but because their approach to dating is a lot more laid back.
If we ditch the dates, where is next on Laila Loves’ destination list?
Ohh, that’s a tricky one! Dubai is always a place where I’ll jet off to if I’m in need of some sun, but I think I’ll be heading to the Caribbean next!
Go to travel outfit?
Ok so… If I’m going somewhere cold the outfit is black jeans, oversized jumper and a cute pair of ankle boots. However, if I’m lucky to be jetting off to sun, sea and sand my outfit will be either a maxi dress with sandals for short haul or leggings, a slogan tee and a jean jacket paired with trainers so I’m comfortable on the flight.
So, you’re slayin’ in the wardrobe department, but what are your hand luggage essentials?
Face wipes, nail file, a book, portable phone charger, laptop and a cardigan.
Time for some super quick travel this or thats. Take-off or landing?
Take off.
Snowy or Sunny?
Sunny, of course!
You have noted that you have struggled with body confidence throughout your life. For the record, we think you look incredible, but how did you work on your own body confidence?
Ah shucks, thank you guys! I believe that beauty and confidence starts in your mind not in your mirror and that took me quite a few years to understand. Once I stopped comparing myself to other people, I dedicated that time into putting more time into myself and doing things that I love, which made love and appreciate the skin that I’m in.
What tips would you give to someone who was battling with their own body confidence demons?
Spend time getting to know yourself better. If you don’t feel like speaking to someone about how you’re feeling, grab a notebook and write things down: it’s a great way to release everything that you’re bottling up inside. Discover things that you enjoy doing and do more of it. And, most importantly, don’t let anybody make you believe that you can’t achieve something.
Killed it, Laila! With body confidence comes serious steeze, when you plan your style, do you start from the shoes or do you start from the clothes?
Unapologetically, I make shoe contact before eye contact so shoes for sure, lol
