Ok, we’re seriously wondering where the last 6 months have gone. Lockdown seems to have made time absolutely fly by but there’s still plenty of time left in 2020 to smash those goals we set in January if the last few months have sent you a bit off track. Just remember girl, if you haven’t been sticking to your plans to eat healthy or workout, save money, read or learn a new skill over the last few months, that is absolutely FINE. In the middle of a global pandemic the last thing we need is extra pressure on ourselves to grow or be productive. There will always be time for that. But if you are ready for some new goals, here’s our half year resolutions for 2020…
Make More Me Time
If weeks spent in isolation has taught us anything it’s that maybe we need to slow down a little bit. Yes, we’re looking forward to bottomless brunch with the girls, hitting the dating scene again, after work drinks and aaaaall the holidays but some self care time is so important and we should all be making time for it, isolation or not. Devote some time every week or so to your hobbies and the things you enjoy. Maybe it’s catching up on Netlflix, going for a run, painting, writing, cooking, etc. Whatever it is, make time for it and your mind will thank you.
Save For A Rainy Day
2020 has definitely shown us that we have no idea what life can throw at us and though splashing out on some new shoes and a new wardrobe makes us feel better, it’s definitely a good idea to have some money stashed away incase of a rainy day. Open up Excel (we know you remember it from school IT lessons girl) and set yourself a budget, work out what your outgoings are, how much you want as spending money and see what you can afford to put away each month. Even if it’s just a few pounds here or there, every little helps. (We’ll thank ASDA for that one). You’ll be surprised at how it adds up.
Find a Workout You Enjoy
I don’t know about you but I hate running. I’ve tried to like it and I just don’t. But exercise isn’t a one size fits all and everyone has different things they enjoy. It could be something more low intensity, walking or yoga to HIIT, CrossFit or weight lifting. Maybe you prefer group classes or sport where there’s the motivation and support of others? Try out a few different things and find what you enjoy. Daily exercise is good for our mental and physical health, helps promote better sleep, reduces risk of illness and loads more benefits.
Do you have any half year resolutions? Let us know gal! Keep smashing those goals, love PDHQ x
