The A/W party campaign you need to know about has arrived and we hope you’re just as obsessed as we are. We’ve taken the chicest styles straight from the catwalk and created a party season collection to be worn with all the sass. In case you didn’t know already, tis’ the season to be confident, be the trend, be Public Desire.
We’ve caught up with our on set Makeup Artist Yasmin to find out more about her go to products, and about the looks she created for us on the day of the Party Shoot. We teamed up with Dirty Martini Manchester to create the scene and worked alongside NYX Professional Makeup to create the looks on the day. We hope you’re as obsessed as we are.
How old were you when you became obsessed with make up?
I became obsessed with makeup when I was around 14 years old. I always loved all things beauty but I discovered YouTube makeup artists and watching how to do makeup became my favourite thing to do.
How long have you been a makeup artist and how did you get your start in the industry?
I fell into doing some bridal work when I was about 16 and from there I did the odd job here and there. Later on, after a couple of years of university, I decided to pursue a career in makeup and went to study at Aqua Rosa – The North West Media Makeup School. I’ve now been full time for the last two years and signed with Industry agency this year!
What do you most love about makeup?
The thing I love most about makeup is the way it makes people feel after having a makeover. Seeing that smile makes me so happy.
How would you describe your signature look?
My signature look is all about enhancing what people already have. Making skin glow and features pop. I hate trying to change and cover people’s features.
What are the three tools in your make up kit that you can never, ever be without?
Three tools would have to be, my beauty blender, my cotton buds and my mascara wands!
What are your go to products?
Go to products. L’oreal Voluminous Mascara for amazing lashes. NYX Professional Makeup dewey setting spray for a finishing touch. Seventeen illuminator to mix in with foundation for an extra glow or add highlight to the face/body.
Tell us about the looks you have gone for in this PD x NYX shoot?
We wanted to make the looks glam but not too over the top heavy. So we went for a classic red lip and liner with beachy waves, and then a colourful pink eye with a little bit of sparkle paired with a nude lip and glam waves. NYX Professional Makeup have some amazing liners, shadows and lipsticks, with great pigment and staying power so using their products made everything so simple.
